Students in the Media Arts and Culture department are strongly encouraged to talk with department faculty and the International Programs Office early in their аIJʿª½± careers about integrating study abroad into their experience of the MAC major.

Past Media Arts and Culture students have traveled to the Czech Republic, Spain, Mexico, England, and New Zealand to both study and create media work on a global scale.

Semester-long study abroad experiences for Media Arts and Culture majors MUST occur in the FALL SEMESTER of junior year, so that all students are back for crucial junior seminars, advanced level courses, and comps preparation that occur on campus in the spring semester of junior year.

In addition to opportunities to study abroad for an academic semester, the International Programs office also provides need-based grants for summer and winter intersession travel and academic study in another cultural context.

Depending on students’ foreign language proficiency and critical/creative interests, exciting opportunities to both study and produce media in another cultural context can be developed in coordination with the IPO.

A complete listing of current Study Abroad Programs as well as the College Requirements for study abroad may be found on the International Programs website.
